Rising Star PR Clients Dominate With 150 Noms for AVN, XBIZ Awards

The Best Roster in Adult Dominates the Nominees for January Showdowns

VENICE, CA – The adult industry’s leading publicity firm has done it again, scoring an industry-shattering 150 nominations for their client roster for the 2014 AVN Awards and XBIZ Awards.

The RSPR clients scored 31 nominations for the XBIZ Awards and 119 for the AVN Awards.

“This has been an outstanding year,” Rising Star PR founder Devan Cypher said earlier this week after getting the last of the clients’ announcement press releases sent out. “We’ve been fortunate to work with excellent clients throughout the years and to help them develop their careers. Every year we think it can’t get better, but it always does. It’s an honor to work with so many amazing people.”

Leading the way are Ryan and Kelly Madison with 26 AVN nominations and four for XBIZ. Kelly has a MILF Performer of the Year nomination with both, Ryan a Male Performer of the Year with AVN and both of their big releases of the year—Get My Belt and The Madison’s Mad Mad Circus—were showered in noms, including a shared Best Director – Non-Feature nomination for Get My Belt from AVN.

The year’s breakthrough director is Dana Vespoli with an incredible 16 AVN nominations and six XBIZ noms. Her XBIZ noms include Director of the Year – Body of Work and Director of the Year – Non-Feature Release for Girl/Boy. For AVN she has Director of the Year, Best Director – Feature for Forsaken and Best Director – Non-Feature for Girl/Boy.

Remy LaCroix has a combined 17, including Female Performer of the Year from both. Both organizations gave her a Best Actress nomination for The Temptation of Eve (New Sensations), and XBIZ also gave her a Best Actress nod for Broken Hearts (Smash Pictures).

Bonnie Rotten also received a Female Performer of the Year from AVN and XBIZ, as well as 11 Best Scene noms between them.

Brandy Aniston received Best Supporting Actress nominations from AVN and XBIZ for Not The Wizard of Oz XXX (X-Play/Pulse), and her star vehicle Breaking Bad XXX is nominated by both for Best Parody/Parody Release of the Year by the two organizations.

Britney Amber, who won Best Female Performer in October at the NightMoves Awards is nominated for Best Actress – Parody Release for Barbwire XXX: A DreamZone Parody (DreamZone Entertainment) by XBIZ. AVN has the movie in the running for Best Parody and Britney for Unsung Starlet.

Newbie Casey Calvert raked in eight noms, including Best New Starlet from AVN and seven scene noms between AVN and XBIZ. AVN nommed Cherie Deville for MILF Performer of the Year. Another new girl, Jessa Rhodes, received Best New Starlet noms from both, scene noms from both, and a Best Supporting Actress for Bikini Outlaws (Wicked Pictures) from XBIZ. She will also be a Trophy Girl at the 2014 XBIZ Awards.

Jenna Haze’s Jennaration X Studios released one movie in 2013, Meow! 3, which was a huge hit and has a total of five nominations, including Best All-Girl Release from AVN and All-Girl Release of the Year from XBIZ.

Camming sensation Mitsuko Doll got an XBIZ nomination for Web Star of the Year. Romi Rain has an XBIZ Awards nom for Best New Starlet, and AVN has her for Best Tease Performance and Best Group Sex Scene. AVN nommed Roxanne Rae for Best All-Girl Group Sex Scene and Sovereign Syre for All-Girl Performer of the Year, and XBIZ nommed Sov for Best Actress, All-Girl Release for Lesbian One Night Stand (Girl Candy Films/Pulse).

2008 XBIZ Director of the Year and 2003 AVN Award winner for Best Screenplay (Breathless) D. Cypher received his fifth nomination in the category this year for Harvest Moon (Wicked Pictures).

Veteran director Barrett Blade has five AVN nominations, including Director of the Year, Best Director – Feature for Bikini Outlaws (Wicked) and Best Director – Parody for Just in Beaver Fever (Devil’s Film). He is also nommed for Best Screenplay for Just in Beaver Fever and Best Non-Sex Performance for Bikini Outlaws.

Transsexual superstar Venus Lux dominated her categories this year, scoring noms for Transsexual Performer of the Year, two for Best Transsexual Sex Scene, and starred in two titles up for Best Transsexual Release in the AVN noms, In the XBIZ noms, Venus is up for Transsexual Performer of the Year and for Transsexual Site of the Year for her Venus-Lux.com. She starred in five titles nominated for Transsexual Release of the Year.

“We knew we were going in with an A-list roster this year, but this is amazing,” RSPR partner Acme Andersson said. “We weren’t able to count for a couple days since we were busy promoting our clients, but once we were able to take the time to look at the raw numbers we were blown away.”
