Epic Run Climaxes with 8 AVN Awards Including Best Parody Drama
VENICE, CA – If there was any doubt about whether Bluebird Films was anything less than an adult industry powerhouse hell bent on conquering the industry it was completely erased last Saturday night at the 2011 AVN show when they walked away with some of the most impressive awards of the night.
Among the jaw dropping list of accolades the company took home were Best Parody Drama, Best Art Direction, Best Makeup, Best Cinematography, Best Special Effects, and Best Online Marketing Campaign for their extraordinary blockbuster BATFXXX Dark Night Parody. The company also took home awards for Best Foreign Feature, for Alice: A Fairy Love Tale, and Best Director Foreign Feature for Paul Chaplin’s Department S, Mission 1: City of Broken Angels.
“It feels amazing to be recognized for all our hard work,” gushed Bluebird CEO Nicholas Steele, who stormed the stage along with Paul Chaplin and the Bluebird contract stars, both insisting their cast and crew join in the celebration as a growing entourage surged forward from the floor of the packed Pearl Theater.
“With a production like this, there’s a lot of people to thank. We start with NICHOLAS STEELE,” Paul Chaplin roared gleefully from the podium, “and all of my co-performers, most of whom have been up here already.”
Nicholas Steele humbly thanked everyone that helped make the movie possible, a beaming smile of pride splashed across his face. Loud hooting and roars of applause gave way to reverent silence as many stunned industry insiders let the news wash over them and sink in – last year’s Best New Production Company just stole the show!
“In a lot of ways Bluebird is an entirely different animal than anything that porn has ever seen,” explains Rising Star PR’s Devan Cypher, which runs the company’s Marketing and Public Relations, and took home the award for Best Online Marketing Campaign – Individual Project for BATFXXX – Dark Night Parody.
“While the majority of the industry is still playing catch up, scratching their heads and trying to figure out what just happened, Bluebird is already a hundred miles down the road creating the next mega project to blow their minds. Steele doesn’t just push the envelope, he completely bends the paradigm, redefining the industry in the process. Watching him bring his visions to life is like watching Thor kill ants with his hammer. The competition simply doesn’t stand a chance.”
Bluebird’s Vice President of Sales Drew Dixon feels confident the recent round of wins only further cement the company’s status as both enduring and elite.
“After this kind of stunning display of power, it’s clear that the industry can no longer pretend that Bluebird Films is anything less than a major player in the adult industry on every level,” muses Dixon. “Anyone who has seen our releases could have predicted we’d be recognized, but this kind of steam rolling was beyond even our expectations. It would seem that Bluebird, once a sleeping giant, is no longer slumbering. Eccentric owner Paul Chaplin doesn’t plan on even pausing for a cat nap after the win.
“We are already well under way with plans on several new epic blockbusters,” offers the ever effervescing actor. “This year will see the rise of Katwoman as well as a biopic on Charlie Chaplin that will showcase comedy, drama, and above all else, the raw sexuality and fireworks Bluebird is now world famous for capturing.”
