Takes Home New Male Performer of the Year Trophy at XBIZ Awards

VENICE, CA – Exactly a month after winning Best Male Newcomer at the AVN Awards, Dane Cross solidified his position as the industry’s top rising star by winning New Male Performer of the Year at the XBIZ Awards last night.

In a year that saw him rise from an alt-porn darling to a serious woodsman with the ability to act (see Not Married With Children XXX, The Office: A XXX Parody and a slew of others).

“This was certainly a goal of mine and I’m very pleased to be honored by XBIZ in this way,” he said last night. “If producers were wondering if I could pull it off, I think now they know.”

This past year he worked for Vivid, New Sensations, Adam & Eve, Penthouse, Wicked and many others.

“I don’t know what my specific goals are for this year,” he said, “but I definitely want to try acting more and I never tire of doing sex scenes.”

AVN’s Best Male Newcomer Nails Faye Reagan in New Layout

VENICE, CA – And there he is again. Just a year ago he was an alt-porn star with hopes of crossing over into adult’s mainstream. Now he is the reigning AVN Best Male Newcomer and certainly among the favorites to take home the New Male Performer of the Year prize at next week’s XBIZ Awards.

“Last year was about establishing myself as both a strong performer and as a solid actor,” Dane says. “I want to be able to tackle any role that comes my way, whether it be a gonzo quickie or a dialogue-intensive character. Both are fulfilling in their own way.”

Of course, little acting was required for the Club shoot, since it was done with a still camera (shot by the one and only Holly Randall) and Faye and Dane are in a long-term relationship.

“Yeah, it sucks having to get paid to nail to the same sweet piece of ass I’m going to get again the second we get home,” he laughs. “Pornography has been very, very good to me.”

VENICE, CA – What a year it’s been for Dane Cross. In a business that worships women and frequently all but ignores the male talent, he managed to make a name for himself with dozens of stellar performances. He excelled not only in sex scenes, but also in his acting roles, and it all added up to a magic moment on Saturday night when he won Best Male Newcomer at the 2010 AVN Awards.

Dane broke in as a star in the alt porn niche and then crossed over, working for companies like Vivid, Wicked, Adam & Eve, Penthouse, New Sensations and nearly every other major company in the industry. He broke out with his role as Bud Bundy in X-Play’s Not Married With Children XXX, which won him a Best Supporting Actor nomination. The award season is still young and Dane is up for New Male Performer of the Year at the XBIZ Awards, which takes place next month.

“I’m not going to start thinking about XBIZ just yet,” he said. “I have to soak this in first. It’s a great feeling and I hope it leads to new opportunities.”

Leading Trade Magazine Names Star to Short List for 2009

VENICE, CA – The award nominations keep rolling in for Dane Cross with XBiz announcing that it has nominated him for New Male Performer of the Year.

It’s been a big year from the star, who crossed over from the alt genre to score leads in several parodies, including Not Married With Children XXX and Not the Bradys XXX: Pussy Power. He also recently starred as the lead opposite Jessica Drake in Wicked’s upcoming Three Days in June, which is yet to hit shelves.

“My career is a lot different than it was just a few months ago,” he said. “It wasn’t easy gaining respect from directors for my feature work, but I think that’s changed. I love working, whether it’s gonzo or features, and it’s great getting the opportunity to do both.”

Headed to Texas Excited About His Big AVN Nominations

VENICE, CA – Just a week after being nominated for nominated for Best Male Newcomer and Best Supporting Actor at the 2010 AVN Awards show, Dane Cross is making an appearance at Lone Star Pornutopia III.

“I’m still new and haven’t done a lot of these shows,” Dane said. “We know porn is mostly about the girls, but it’s nice to go meet people and get a little respect from the fans. It’s always a great feeling that they know who you are and remember your work..”

Rising Star Balancing Both Worlds

VENICE, CA – Male performer Dane Cross is having an interesting month. In addition to playing a character in one of his all time favorite television shows growing up, Enos from Duke’s of Hazzard, for Voyeur Media’s parody of the show, he’s also putting the finishing touches on his second music video for the L.A. band Captain Ahab. Dane claims that he is as happy as can be about being consistently cast in parody roles.

“I love it,” Dane confesses. “It’s nice to be recognized for my acting skills and we always have such a good time on set goofing around. It really is a lot of fun.”

As far as directing his second ever music video, the Brookes Institute graduate brought a little something extra to the table – in the form of a lesbian tryst between girlfriends Faye Reagan and Georgia Jones.

“It is just a little softcore segment but it fit in really well with the video’s theme,” Dane laughs. “People are going to notice it. That’s for sure.”

Dane, who recently joined forces with adult entertainment’s finest adult talent agency, LA Direct Models, is no stranger to mainstream. Recently he starred in the upcoming Showtime version of the movie LOOK. He claims he is happy with the way things are going this year so far.

“It’s been a pretty good year so far,” concedes Cross. “I feel like I’ve kind of come of age in the business so to speak. I’ve kind of added a new side to the nerdy teenager Gen X thing I came in with and am being taken more seriously now as a capable performer and actor. I feel I can pull off more then just the nerdy roles and I am really pleased with the consistent positive feedback from the new companies I work with showing my new, LOOK.”

Blockbuster Performer Still Turning In Gonzo Love

VENICE, CA – Dane Cross may be the first guy people think of when they are getting ready to shoot their next hot new porn parody, but he’s still working just as much these days shooting gonzo scenes. And while his name is out there stronger than ever after being cast in Will Ryder’s acclaimed spoofs like XXX Not Married With Children or New Sensations’ The Office: A XXX Parody, for every major role he takes there are literally handfuls of single scenes in ultra hardcore movies that happen around them often going relatively unseen.

When he isn’t shooting for Zero Tolerance or BlueBird Films, he’s on the set of Hustler’s Barely Legal or working for Eon McKai over at Vivid Alt. Recently New Sensations called him back in to make some more clips for the web regarding his role in their Office spoof.

“It’s been a pretty busy year so far,” the rising male performer says. “The porn parody stuff is great and I really enjoy it, but sometimes it’s nice just to show up and screw.”

A graduate of prestigious Brooks Institute’s film school, Dane Cross is a former news photographer and editor. Last month he directed his first music video for popular Los Angeles band Anavan. Next month he plans on traveling to Europe to shoot a pilot for a travel show.
