After much effort, she managed to regain control of her account on Thursday. She still has 450,000 followers and most of the damage appears to have been temporary, though it’s impossible to be certain due to the sensitive information that had been available to the hackers.

Her Instagram account (@LoveTroopers) remains hacked as of this announcement.

“From a business standpoint it’s equally damaging,” she said. “I have often written about my affinity for Twitter and the tremendous business opportunities that have come to life because of my interactions there. Trapped within my DM’s at the hacked account were numerous contracts, interviews, business opportunities and business contact information. This hack disrupted at least $20,000 worth of business in January/February, eliminated 50% of my Social Media Marketing (SMM) Plan and consumed over 40 man hours and counting.”

Late last week the Los Angeles Times ran an article titled “Porn industry gets a boost from VR, but manufacturers aren’t thrilled” and one of their go-to interviews was with VRPorn.com founder and CEO Daniel Peterson.

Writer David Ng made the point that virtual reality is creating something of a renaissance in Porn Valley, bringing in money that was quickly drying up thanks to the proliferation of free adult content on the internet websites similar to sexmaturexxx. But headset manufacturers have been regularly blocking porn apps, “thereby making it harder for consumers to access adult VR content.”

“The official line is that they don’t talk about it,” Peterson told the Times. “But everyone knows it’s a major factor driving VR.”

The author quotes estimates that 50% of all VR content is porn-related and the VR porn market was $93 million last year and “could reach $1.4 billion by 2025.” Despite the usual struggles, it looks like VR could save the adult industry after all. (Phew!)
