‘Highly Powerful’ ‘Gardener’ Named One of Top 10 Movies of 2014
VENICE, CA – The newest release from the industry’s most talked-about director, B. Skow, comes out this week when Girlfriends ships American Nannies, a hardcore release with an all-star cast.
Dakota Skye, who is on the cover, Daisy Haze, Alexis Adams and Carter Cruise star with Steve Holmes, Mick Blue, Ramon Nomar and Toni Ribas in a movie that Skow calls “a ridiculous nanny story.” While the movie is a departure from the cutting edge and controversial features that have received so much attention in recent months, this kind of movie is clearly within the director’s wheelhouse.
“I’ve been shooting these types of scenes for years and have always enjoyed being able to just jump in there and play with the personalities of the performers and really focus on the sex,” Skow said. “The cast for this movie is spectacular and they all give performances as strong as any you’ll see from them.”
Skow, who last year was named the industry’s most prolific director, responded this year by being even more prolific and garnering even more nominations, from 35 last year to 37 for the 2014 AVN Awards. Skow’s nominations include 12 best movie releases in 10 categories: Best All-Girl Release, Best Amateur/Pro-Am Release, three times for Best Comedy, Best Celebrity Sex Tape, Best Non-Feature, Best Parody, Best Pro-Am Release, Best Vignette Release, Best Young Girl Release and Best Romance Movie.
He is also up for Director of the Year, Best Director – Feature for These Things We Do and Best Director – Parody for Austin Powers XXX: A Porn Parody. Skow also has 33 nominations for the 2015 XBIZ Awards, including four nominations for Director of the Year, five Best Scene noms for performances in five different movies, Feature Movie of the Year, Gonzo Series of the Year, Vignette Release of the Year and Vignette Series of the Year and two for Couples-Themed Release of the Year.
Die Screaming has named The Gardner one of the Top 10 movies of 2014, giving it the #7 slot.
